Investment Spotlight: Flite, LA31
Rahul Surana and Suvir Wadhwa were college students who struggled to find community at school. To address this, the pair ran over 85 events, with over 40K attendees.
In the process, Rahul and Suvir found that hosts spend up to 70% of their time planning and promoting their events before selling a single ticket. They co-founded Flite to solve this pain point.
Flite is a platform for hosts to promote, monetize, and streamline the event planning process. Their beachhead market is nightlife events.
Here’s how the platform works:
- Hosts log on to the platform to start building their event. They can design listing pages with templates and input details, such as pricing and the venue.
- Next, hosts can draft and sign agreements with event partners such as DJs, artists, promoters, and security.
- Hosts can find a promoter for the event via Flite’s marketplace, which can help bring attendees to the event. Promoters take on average 25% of ticket sales.
- Finally, hosts can oversee the event through a dashboard, which allows them to manage attendees, affiliate sales, and payments.
The founders graduated from the LAUNCH Accelerator Cohort 31 in June 2024 and have grown their GMV to $293k in August 2024.
